Olga Denisenko

Education: St. Petersburg Repin Institute of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts, Painting Faculty, Monument Painting Workshop. Postgraduate education: Creative workshop of Russian Academy of Fine Arts.
Creative areas: easel painting and graphics, monumental painting, murals , icon, mosaic and stained glass.
Author’s personality:
Artist, Assistant Professor in Russian and foreign higher educational institutions of arts, laureate of Russian and international festivals and contests. She has taught for 10 years in the St. Petersburg Repin State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Since 2006 she has been teaching in The Repin Institute in Kymenlaakso postgraduate University, (Kotka, Finland), conducts different master-classes in Russia and Europe. Her easel works concern Russian history; they remind a viewer and interlocutor of spiritual and moral principles. Ethnographic motifs in her works bring home the eternal subject of the Good and the Evil, touch on the issues of a link between generations, family, fidelity to high moral ideals, beauty and harmony of the world around.

The author’s works are exhibited in Russian and foreign museums, including
the State Museum of the History of Religion, Saint Petersburg; in the State Pushkin Museum Preserve “Mikhailovskoe”, Mozhaisk Museum of Local Lore, the Beijing World Art Museum, Creative Workshops Fund of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts
and in private collections in Russia, Finland, Sweden, China and the USA.

1998 – Laureate of “Muses of Saint Petersburg” Contest of Young Artists
2000 – Memorial Medal of the Academy of Fine Arts for participation in recreation of wall paintings in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Moscow

2010-2012 was awarded with diplomas and certificates of honor by the Russian Orthodox Church for contribution in rehabilitation and beautification of churches
2014- – Chairman of the State Qualifying Commission at defense of qualification works in the I. Shadr Art College (EHU), Yekaterinburg. Letter of gratitude from EHU administration.

Teaching activity:
From 2001 till 2011 she taught in Painting Faculty of I. Repin Institute of the Academy of Fine Arts.
Since 2011 she has worked as the Senior Assistant Professor in the Arts Faculty of Saint Petersburg State University.
From 2006 till present she has been teaching in The Rein Institute in Kotka , Finland, and presented master classes in towns of Finland, Estonia and Spain.
2013-2015 – Master classes of painting in the framework of project “Valery Gergiev’s Centre of Arts for Russia’s Talented Youth” in Yekaterinburg and Saint Petersburg.

1986 – Graduated with Honours from Joganson Secondary Art School under I. Repin Institute of the Academy of Fine Arts.
1989-1996 – Studied at Painting Faculty of I. Repin Institute

1996 – Defended the qualifying work “Bell. XVII century” with the excellent mark in the Monument Painting workshop and continued working in the Creative workshop (1997-2001)
